Everybody’s favorite 1990s first-person shooter game is getting remastered. Old school gamers and a new generation alike will soon be able to play a remastered version of ‘GoldenEye 007′ for Xbox and Nintendo Switch, 25 years after its original release on Nintendo 64.
In a Nintendo Direct event on Tuesday, the company announced that the classic James Bond video game and several other old Nintendo 64 properties would be added to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack (a service that comes with an annual $50 subscription fee). On the same day, Rare, the company that developed the legendary video game, revealed on Twitter that it would also be available to Xbox users through Xbox Game Pass.
Both companies did not share the date the game will be added to the consoles’ subscription services. According to 007.com, the remastered ‘GoldenEye 007’ will run in 4K resolution on Xbox and include an online multiplayer option for the Nintendo console.
